new york, new york. 1899 Pretty girls in pretty dresses, handsome gentleman to escort them down the stairs and into the ballroom for a night of fun, where there is no such thing as inhibitions. Toast your friends while sipping champagne shipped in from Sweden just for the occasion. Gush about the latest fashions coming out from France, and gossip about the state of Timothy and Bessy's engagement. Tomorrow, things will be just the same as they were this morning. But tonight, you are on the arm of a grinning bachelor, and nothing hurts you as long as you hurt nothing. Good luck.

residences
[ ]holland home
The Holland home is as quaint as mansions get around fifth street, the rich part of town. It is dwarfed by the towering sky-scrapers not far off and the even larger houses around it. It is crammed between two other homes, with a small front yard and a larger back.

[ ]schoonmaker home
Easily the largest and most grand in the area, you can not help but gape at the sheer size and intricacy in every single detail. Most often, the grandest parties are held here and anybody who's anybody attends. Amenities include a large, if not important, greenhouse

click
00
[ ]hayes home
Home of the famed Ms. Penelope, it is not as large as the residence of Henry Schoonmaker but grander still than that of Diana Holland, which gives her a touch of smugness. It is a corner lot, which provides more yard than the other houses on her block.

00
[ ]cutting home
Home to Mr. Theodore Cutting, it is two doors down from the Holland home. It is older than the others, and does not possess the desired modernism, but has a quaint charm that can't be found in other, newer homes.

[ ]chabot home
Recently purchased by the French Opera singer and is also inhabited by his daughter, Renette. It is one of the newer homes in the neighborhood, and include such amenities as a deck on the roof.

click
00
[ ]derby home
Home to the derby triplets and their parents, it was required to be large to inhabit the large family. It has a more whimsical build than some of the homes in the area, and has a skylight overlooking the ballroom

click
00
[ ]van wyck home
located in a more suburban part of town, it is also one of the grandest houses in the city. Mr. Van Wyck inherited it from his father, and his father's father was an architect that planned and built it himself. It's the largest house in the area, with a frequently used ballroom that will take your breath away. Other attractions include several decks and a roof-top terrace.

down town
[ ]the waldorf (1 sub-board)
By far the most grand hotel in the up-scale part of the city, come take a tea here at lunchtime during a break from shopping. It is nestled in the heart of down-town, and only the most upscale are allowed in. Impropriety will have you immediately thrown out.
00
[ ]lord & taylors
Your one-stop destination for updates on the latest fashions from France and some of the actual material itself. It's prices are anything but dainty, but it can't be beat for such quality clothing and fabric. Spend an afternoon with one of the handsome sales boys, gossiping while having a custom fitting performed.
00
[ ]central park
does it really need explanation? The park contains an ice skating rink, a lake to spend lazy summer days, a stream covered by several cobble-stone bridges. There are paths through the trees galore, and the park covers over two square miles in total, or 843 acres. Is obscenely popular for picnics and carriage rides.
00
[ ]lou henry's
The most popular lounge among the upper-class, come here with your beau for fancy drinks, good music and sophisticated conversation. Just be sure to have a designated driver on hand.
00
[ ]fifth street
Famous fifth street is like a scene from a painting. Bright red-bricked houses and shops line the heavily treed cobble-stone drive, where elegant men and women can be found parading up and down, strutting there stuff. There's a store for just about everything, and in autumn when the trees are bright red and orange, it is a scene you will never forget.
00
[ ]the theatres
there are several lining the streets in the heart of down-town, all next to each other. Each showing a different show, it's never a dull moment. By the time you see all of them, there's an entirely new lineup waiting for you.
00
[ ]times square
The heart of down town, the heart of the city. Merchants line the street on weekends to sell their goods, in front of the larger shops and department stores.
00
[ ]the met
this is were the wealthy come for a break from the world of clothing and gossip. It is the largest and most thorough museum on this side of the country, and the city is quite proud of it. Art from all over the world is found here, all original pieces of course.
00
[ ]carnegie hall
a more relaxed theatre in terms of atmospere, but in order to gain acceptance in you must be wearing nothing but the very latest and most grand fashions available. Lounge in slinky arm chairs while puffing at your cigarette, all over the sounds of an opera singer bellowing her dispair.
00
uptown
[ ]the harlton
inhabited by mostly lower-class that cannot afford a home of their own. It is a popular destination for men looking for a couple hour's fun bought from a brothel across the street.
00
[ ]the gentleman's establishment
A noble gentleman looking for a little excitement can find all his needs here, in the form of a willing, overly-dolled lady. For a price, of course.
00
[ ]pratt street market
where a lot of the lower-class come to buy and sell commodities, whether in the form of food or cloth or anything in between. The bottom-of-the-barrel prices can't be beat.
00
[ ]residences
smaller homes, apartments, and run-down lofts where the lower class live their lives.
00
outside the city
[ ]the coast & dock
sit on the sand with your toes in the water, watching the ships come and go through the busy New York harbor. Come and host a bon fire at night for a little innocent fun.
00
[ ]ellis island
a short boat's ride here takes you to Lady Liberty herself. Be sure to bow your hat.
00
[ ]the wood & make-out hill
Barely two miles off of downtown is a small wood full of different trails, popular for horseback riding and dog walking. On the far side of the trees is a large hill, where you can see the ocean off on the horizon. It's a popular spot at nighttime for googly-eyed young lovers to admire the stars...and each other's lips.
